Comparative Study on Profitability of Sorghum-Legumes Intercropping Systems in Ethiopia

The imbalance between the crop production and population growth is currently major issue in Ethiopia. To feed growing population, increasing of food through more types same field as an intercropping right strategy. study was aimed at evaluating profitability sorghum-legume on yield sorghum. Intercropping sorghum with legumes crops increases land productivity its Land Equivalent Ratio greater than one. In these cases, equivalent ratio one indicating benefits intercropping. general, legume contributed to either intercropped or grown up using residual contribution after a year. Therefore, for maximum production, farmers should plant intercrop effect crops. addition agronomic parameters used compare advantages any cropping system small scale farming conditions, total gross monetary value also evaluate economic system.
